CAMS LANE CYCLEWAY

Title:  Cams Lane Cycleway
Client: Bury MBC
Value: £45,000
Scope:The cycleway was constructed as part of the Cycling to School initative and included site clearance, excavation, re-profiling, drainage, surfacing and access controls.

CHESTERFIELD CANAL

Title:  Chesterfield Canal Waterproofing works
Client: British Waterways
Value: £136,000
Scope:Water seepage from the canal was causing damage to adjacent properties and the works were designed to stop the leakage by constructing a reinforced concrete wall and relining the canal bed with puddle clay. Cofferdams were installed and flows were maintained by fluming and overpumping.

GREEN LANE CULVERT

Title:  Green Lane Culvert
Client: Environment Agency
Value: £112,000
Scope:The existing culvert was too small and was causing upstream flooding. We removed the existing culvert and installed a precast concrete box culvert together with cast-insitu inlet and outfall structures. Existing flows were flumed through the works.

OLD WARKE DAM

Title:  Old Warke Dam - Silt Traps 1 & 2
Client: City of Salford
Value: £85,000
Scope:Old Warke Dam has become heavily silted and the construction of silt traps to prevent further silting are the first phase of its restoration. Working within a watercourse we installed a substantial earthwork support system and flumed flows through the working area whilst we constructed the reinforced concrete silt traps.

PENDLETON ROUNDABOUT

Title:  Pendleton Roundabout Parapet Replacement
Client: City of Salford
Value: £245,000
Scope:Pendleton Roundabout straddles the A6 and carries large volumes of traffic, the existing parapets were heavily corroded and needed replacing. Temporary vehicle barriers were needed whilst the works were carried-out, these were installed/removed during overnight road closures.

PLAZA STEPS

Title:  Plaza Steps - Structural maintenance
Client: Stockport MBC
Value: £140,000
Scope:Works to this Grade II Listed Structure included the installation of structural ties, filling beneath the steps with 150 cubic metres of foamed concrete, refurbishment of the heavily worn treads and handrails.

REASEHEATH

Title:  Drainage works at Reaseheath College.
Client: Reaseheath College
Value: £122,000
Scope:The main drain from Reaseheath College had deteriorated and manholes were substandard, this required a complete new line of 225mm dia pipes with associated manholes. Ground conditions were fine sand with a high water table, requiring the use of wellpoint dewatering throughout the works.

ST HELENS CANAL

Title:  St Helens Canal Reclamation, Phases 1, 2, 3c, 5
Client: Warrington Borough Council
Value: £1,300,000
Scope:Reclamation of one of the UK's earliest canals included: steel & timber piling, dredging, reconstruction of waterway walls, towpath reconstruction. A Civic Trust Award was given for Phase 1.
